My Alpina Roadster S was originally painted sterling grey, a sort of mouse grey colour which I thought wasn't very distinctive. Since the bonnet, side skirts, bumpers and one of the rear fenders already had to repainted, I thought I could just as well do a full body repaint. I picked a darker shade metallic grey from the Lamborghini section in the paint catalogue. The paint contains a high amount of metal flakes that show a nice sprakle effect in bright sun light. The colour is neutral grey in fluorescent lighting and turns to a warmer brown tint when the sun sets. During preparation for the paint job almost all bodywork was removed from the car. In March 2008 the car looked like a rally raid buggy!

A silver coloured logo sticker was fitted to the raised Alpina logo in the front spoiler lip. We also painted the rollbar covers piano black to distract attention from the rollbars.
